The war was over and done with, but that didn’t mean life was. Benjamin was then, heavily involved with managing new investments in New York. Paperwork wasn’t anything new to him, but without the pressures from Washington and the British army urging him on, he found things to be extremely dull.

He carried a stack of books and letters, one of which he was reading through as he strolled through the streets. Suddenly, a small body slammed into his legs and with the shock, the letters escaped his fingers and flurried to the ground. After realizing the child and vexed mother, he chuckled and began to gather his things, thankful for the lack of wind.

“Oh! Please. Save your strength.” He couldn’t imagine what this woman had on her plate, and in her obviously pregnant state he didn’t want to trouble her. The man gathered the rest of his belonging and stood, offering a polite smile.

Your son is quite alright, miss.” He stood and straightened himself out. “I might. I am Benjamin Tallmadge. Who is your husband?”

she felt AWFUL for what philip did, and she just sighed, swallowing gently.       ❛ no seriously, it’s my fault, i should have been watching him but he kept running away because he saw a DOG. ❜     she shook her head, and smiled gently when he finally gathered everything. at the sound of his name, she finally got a face to a name. alexander had mentioned him in a letter, but, she had NEVER met him.       ❛ oh! my husband is alexander hamilton, i’m elizabeth hamilton, but everyone just calls me eliza–– or BETSEY. ❜

she now KNEW that she had to make it up to him, some how, some way. she was just like that as a person, and it was in her NATURE to want to do these things.       ❛ if you aren’t too busy tonight, you should come over for dinner. my husband has mentioned you in a few letters before, i find it PLEASING to put a name to a face. ❜       she fixed a strand of dark hair, and smiled down at philip, straightening his curly locks. they reminded her of angelica and peggy’s, eliza was never BLESSED with that.       ❛ i’m sure you have a wife waiting for you back home though. ❜
