YOU’RE JUST A WOMAN. the words of thomas jefferson repeated in her ears, and she sighed, gripping the laundry that she was doing. her husband, alexander hamilton, was working on something. she had ALWAYS heard him ranting about thomas, but she never saw the big deal of it until today. she went to thomas’s office, and offered her service; then watched as he LAUGHED in her face. she dropped the clothes that she was folding and stood up, walking towards his office. ❛ alexander, ❜ her voice was as SOFT as ever, and she walked in, but it felt wrong, knowing that she wasn’t told whether or not she should come in.
❛ i know that you’re busy, and i know that your work is important, but it’s STUPID. ❜ she said, and she stood up a little straighter. their kids were off in the backyard, playing with one another. eliza was watching them, but her WOMAN mind decided to bug her husband. ❛ i talked to thomas jefferson today, why is it that men are only running our country? you can’t seem to take a break long enough in fear that you WON’T finish in time. that’s poor planning, in my opinion ❜
